The GRA-CFS20 is a purpose built HF antenna for operators who demand efficiency, durability and mobility on the 20 meter band.
Engineered with a full length carbon fiber roll-wrapped whip, the antenna is highly elastic, extremely strong and significantly lighter than traditional fiberglass or stainless whips.
This construction enhances stability during vehicle motion and reduces wind load, making it an ideal 20m mobile solution.
Core Specifications
• Frequency Center: 14.2 MHz (20m band)
• Connector Type: 3/8-24
• Rated Power: 100 W SSB
• Total Weight: 131 g (4.62 oz including loading coil)
• Length: 112 cm (44 inches)
• Structure: Full carbon fiber roll-wrapped whip for enhanced resilience
Grounding Notice
To achieve optimal SWR and communication quality, proper grounding is essential.
• When mounted on a vehicle: Grounding to the vehicle body improves SWR performance beyond what is shown in our sample SWR graph.
• When used off-vehicle: A ground radial system is required. For 14.2 MHz, we recommend at least 4 radials, each approximately 5 meters (16.4 ft) in length for balanced radiation.
Why Carbon Fiber?
The roll-wrapped structure delivers exceptional elasticity while maintaining rigidity, enabling the whip to flex under wind or motion yet immediately return to stable operating form.
This design gives amateur radio operators a more reliable and durable field antenna solution.
Perfect for mobile HF, POTA, SOTA, expeditions and compact vehicle installations.
